Hi, my name is Krista Ploeg the women behind the lens of Get Framed Photography. My love for photography started with a simple intention: to capture the special moments in my own life. What began as a hobby to document adventures turned into a passion for wedding and lifestyle photography.
When I was holding down my own wedding’s photoalbum back in 2020, it hit me. I want to create that same feeling for other people. I want to create timeless images fort hem, full of emotion, passion- and genuine moments.
I want couples to be able to look back on their wedding day time and time again and be instantly transported back to those unforgettable memories.
I know all too well that memories can fade. Thankfully, both my parents were present on our wedding day. My husband, however, lost his father at a young age. That’s why, during the big day, I don’t just focus on the happy couple. I also keep a close eye on the people who matter most to you.
What makes my work meaningful is the personal story I bring to it. Through several big life events, like losing loved ones and my father’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis- I’ve come to understand the value of photo’s. They bring memories to life, provide comfort, and help us process difficult moments. But they also remind us of the joy we share with those we love.
I’m a storytelling type photographer. That’s why I love weddingphotography, it’s not just about celebrating your love, but also about celebrating with your loved ones. My photos aren’t just pretty pictures; they’re timeless and pure, focused on the connection between you and your family and friends.
Since becoming a full-time photographer and entrepreneur, I’ve captured countless special moments and grown a lot. Both as a photographer and as a person. I love investing in personal development and I regulary spend time on courses or coaching to keep leveling up my work and business.

Hi, ik ben Krista, de persoon achter de lens van Get Framed Photography. Mijn liefde voor fotografie begon met een simpel verlangen: de bijzondere momenten in mijn eigen leven vastleggen. Wat ooit begon als een hobby om avonturen te documenteren, groeide uit tot een passie voor trouw- en lifestylefotografie.
Toen ik mijn eigen trouwalbum in handen kreeg, wist ik het zeker: dit gevoel wil ik ook voor anderen creëren. Jullie mooiste momenten vereeuwigd in tijdloze beelden, vol emotie, passie en de intimiteit van het moment. Zonder poespas. Echte pure beelden, precies zoals jullie zijn. Ik wil dat bruidsparen keer op keer kunnen terugkijken op de mooiste dag van hun leven, vastgelegd in beelden die hen direct weer terugbrengen naar die onvergetelijke momenten.
Ik weet helaas maar al te goed dat herinneringen kunnen vervagen. Gelukkig waren mijn beide ouders op onze bruiloft aanwezig. Mijn man verloor zijn vader al op jonge leeftijd. En juist tijdens zo’n bijzondere dag is het gemis extra sterk. Daarom let ik tijdens een bruiloft niet alleen goed op het bruidspaar, maar ook op de mensen die hen het meest dierbaar zijn.
Wat mijn werk zo betekenisvol maakt, is de persoonlijke achtergrond die ik erin meebreng. Door de gebeurtenissen in mijn eigen leven-zoals het verlies van dierbaren en de diagnose van Alzheimer bij mijn vader-begrijp ik de waarde van foto's op een diep niveau.
Foto’s brengen herinneringen tot leven, bieden troost en helpen ons de moeilijke momenten te verwerken. Maar ze doen meer dan dat: ze houden ook de vreugdevolle momenten die we met onze dierbaren delen, levend. Mijn doel is mijn boodschap door middel van mijn foto’s over te brengen. Echte verhalen vertellen die ertoe doen, daarom ga ik zo ''aan'' van het vastleggen van bruiloften. De meest bijzondere dag in jullie leven, niet alleen jullie liefde vieren met ook met al jullie dierbaren. Mijn foto's zijn niet zomaar plaatjes; ze zijn tijdloos en puur, en gaan vooral over de verbinding tussen mensen.
Sinds ik fulltime fotograaf en ondernemer ben, heb ik talloze bijzondere gebeurtenissen mogen vastleggen. Ik ben enorm gegroeid - als fotograaf én als mens. Ik investeer graag in mijn persoonlijke ontwikkeling en volg regelmatig cursussen of coaching om mijn werk en mijn bedrijf naar een nog hoger niveau te tillen.

Wander Through Art
I live in Zeist, near Utrecht, a large city in the middle of the Netherlands. I share my home with my husband Jilt, my childhood sweetheart, whom I get married in 2020, and our three loving kitties.
We love adventure, discovering new places, traveling, hiking, and of course… photography. During our trips, I’m most excited to capture wildlife, especially in the wild landscapes of Canada and the U.S. We’re drawn to the diversity in scenery and animal life - bears, wolves, foxes… We've already visited more than 42 national parks, and our bucket list is still growing.
Of course, we document these trips - not only with photos and videos, but also through a blog! It started as a way to keep friends and family back home updated, but we’ve noticed more and more people asking us for tips. So feel free to have a look. Check out our travel blog here.

My dream? A tiny house in the middle of nature, with enough space for animals and a cozy photo studio to do what I love most.
I want to set myself apart from other photographers. If everyone goes right, I go left. Whether it’s about trends or a certain editing style, I create work that I genuinely find beautiful. During a fun night with friends, while we were brainstorming, the name GET FRAMED came up. Besides the fact that a photo truly comes to life when you print it “framing yourself” it also has another meaning in English. I absolutely love humor, self-mockery, and wordplay, so it was the perfect fit!
I’m a huge cat lover. I can’t walk past one without offering a friendly “psst psst” and a quick pet.
I’m obsessed with cookies and pastries, especially homemade ones. So if you visit, there ‘ll usally be something sweet on the table.
